This section serves as a final reminder – a Portal is not about technology for technology’s sake. Always think about what you are trying to achieve in your school or district, and look where technology can enable those goals.

Be nimble in your approach. Times change and so does the technology. Be prepared to try something and let it go if it does not respond to your needs. Listen everywhere and to everyone. Sometimes the technology can help a situation and sometimes and issue needs resolution before a technology solution can be introduced. Be prepared to think outside the box!

Whatever your planning cycle may be, look to your key initiatives and ask yourself whether technology can help you to achieve the stated goals. Ask every time you are planning an initiative whether the technology can help.

Then evaluate regularly, communicate progress widely, and celebrate success publicly. Everyone should take pride in the accomplishment.
