Ownership
The concept of ownership has the potential to derail a successful implementation if you have not thought it through in advance.
Why is it so critical?
Lack of clarity about ownership will be a source of conflict. If everyone comes in with a different perspective on the issue of ownership, there will be significant disappointment and conflict when one group tells another group what they can and cannot do. And there will be an appearance of trusts being broken, which would have a negative impact on the community you have worked so hard to build.
The issue of ownership is simply who will control the content and use of the Portal environment? Will the Portal be considered as a single environment for this decision, or will different groups (parents, schools, trustees) own different components of the environment?
Thinking about, deliberating, and bringing clarity to these questions is an important issue to resolve before you deploy your Parent Portal.
