If you are in a single-school district, or are thinking about a Parent Portal for just your school, please read the “Tools at Your District” section as it will apply to you!

This section looks at tools you have in your school that will help with the Parent Portal, assuming that the Portal is being developed for all the schools in your district. Here’s some things to think about:

1. Do you have computers that staff can use to access the Parent Portal? This would be for teachers to answer messages, staff to post information, the principal to communicate with parents.
2. Can parents use computers at your school? For some families without computers, accessing at school could be a great option – when they are dropping off or picking up their children before and after school or during lunch. Think of the evenings when parent meetings are scheduled.

Having computers available for parents when they come for meetings is also a great way to introduce parents to the Parent Portal and provide some basic training.
